Shortly after SoCal WCA’s 2020 Tutor Conference at UCLA, COVID-19 changed many writing centers’ daily operations. Writing center tutors are at the center of our organization, so we took this opportunity to explore what that change meant to them. This site launched in place of a 2021 in-person conference with the theme “Change.”

As writing centers reenter familiar spaces and contexts in 2022, this site continues as a digital venue with the theme “Re-entry: Reclaiming & Reimagining the Writing Center.”

Taking advantage of this online medium, tutors’ works use various modes (e.g., visual, aural, spatial) to communicate with their audience. Their works include narratives, presentations, podcasts, photo essays, text-adventure video games, and more. Thanks for visiting and enjoy!
